At Leatherwood Retrievers we strive to meet the needs of each client and train each dog to fulfill its potential. Our purpose is clearly stated to get solid consistent performance from each and every dog.

Basic Obedience with all breeds of dogs.

  • Here, Heel, Sit

  • Walk on and off lead

  • No jumping

  • Good citizen dog

Retriever Training
Started Dogs This dog is exposed to basic obedience.

  • Collar Conditioning

  • Force Fetch

  • Dog will do simple retrieves and deliver to hand

  • Simple Doubles

**For competition purposes this dog could compete in Junior Hunter and Started Retriever.

Intermediate

  • Pile Work

  • "T" Pattern

  • Reasonably steady

  • Complex double marked retrieves

  • Swim By

  • Pattern Blinds

**For competition purposes this dog could compete in Senior Hunter and Seasoned Hunter. This dog can also function as a personal gun dog

Advanced

  • Multiple Marks

  • Steady to shot

  • Complex multiple blinds

  • Honor working Dogs

**This dog can compete in Master Hunter and Finished Hunt test.
